Our Mission

Digital Civic Duties is a nonprofit organization dedicated to teaching digital civic manners for American citizens. In a time when misinformation spreads faster than truth and online spaces can feel hostile and divided, we believe in the power of education to create change.

We teach people to think before they share, verify what they read, and treat everyone online with the respect they deserve. Because democracy works better when we're informed and kind.

Our Three Pillars

🤝

Respect

Treating every person with dignity, online and off

💙

Kindness

Choosing to uplift rather than tear down

🏘️

Community

Strengthening the bonds that unite us

What We Believe

  • Truth Matters: Citizens need accurate information to make good decisions. We teach people to verify before they share.
  • People Are People: Behind every screen name is a real human being who deserves to be treated with respect.
  • Responsibility Comes With Power: Every share, like, and comment has impact. We help people use that power wisely.
  • Hate Has No Home Here: We stand firmly against antisemitism and all forms of bigotry.
  • Kindness Starts Young: Teaching children compassion—toward animals and people alike—builds a better future.
  • Community Matters: We support those who serve our communities, including law enforcement officers.

Why This Matters Now

We live in unprecedented times. Misinformation can circle the globe before the truth has its shoes on. Hate groups use social media to recruit and radicalize. Children are exposed to content that can shape their worldview before they have the tools to evaluate it critically.

But we also have unprecedented opportunities. Technology can connect us, educate us, and empower positive change. Digital Civic Duties exists to help Americans harness that power responsibly.
